3 Areas of SEO That Can Impact Your Business

 

By now you probably understand what SEO is and how important it is for your business. Did you know that there are three different areas of SEO that can affect your business? Each one of these levels is key to the success of your SEO campaign, and it is important to make sure you attend to each matter. It’s like a three legged stool if you take out one of the legs, then it won’t stay supported and balanced. It is the same with the areas of SEO; you must have all three in order for your business to be successful. The main areas of SEO are:

  • On-Page Optimizations
  • Off-Page Optimizations
  • Local SEO

Website Architecture

The very first thing that must be done even before you start working on the three areas mentioned above is to have an SEO company run a site audit to see what errors you are currently having with your website, how errors are affecting your site, and the steps that need to be taken in order to fix the errors. Most sites have many issues, and areas open for improvement; for example, JavaScript or Flash can possibly hide links, thereby making the pages those links lead to hidden from search engines.

On-Page Optimization

The first SEO area is on-page optimizations. This involves taking your website and correcting the errors on it so that it is more search engine friendly. There are over 100 on-page identifiable ranking factors that your website should be catering to; markup, schema, H-tags, title tags, meta description, alt tags, and so much more. It’s vital that all these ranking factors are addressed, in order for your website to rank high on the web and to get an increase in visitors.

Off-Page Optimization

Next is off-page optimizations. This involves taking all the measures outside of your actual website to help improve its rank on the web. For example here is list of off-page optimization measures that must be done also to help your website rank higher.

  • Building links
  • Social Media
  • Pay Per Click

Local SEO

That last area of search engine marketing is Local SEO, which is the process of optimizing your website so that you can gain higher search rankings in a certain geographical area. Local SEO is key to the success of your business, especially when you only do business with those in vicinity to your brick and mortar location. Here are three simple ways to help improve your local business rankings:

  • Establish your company’s NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) across the web
  • Claim your local business listings on city specific directories
  • Get clients to leave online reviews on places such as Google+, Facebook, Yelp, etc.
